The End of One Garden and the Beginning of Another

I have two little sweet pepper plants still alive in the garden.

Houston is a funny place. Here, if you don't like the weather, just wait a little while and it will surely change.

Makes for an interesting life, but it is a little hard on the plants! We've had even stranger weather the last couple of years with it either being so dry that everything just gasped and died finally or so wet that most things drowned (including the grass I had worked so hard to grow in the side yard).

Having said all that, I'm still not giving up! I've spent a little time tonight finding out what seeds I have left from last year that are still usable, and then shopping through my favorite seed catalog.

It's really hard to decide when everything looks so beautiful and so possible. But I think I have made the best choices for us, so I'll fill out the order form and get it in the mail tomorrow.

Are you growing anything this year?

This looks so fun to pick your seeds Elaine. I only grow flowers here and there as our lot is mostly shaded -- not very conducive to veggies and other fun stuff!

Well, you can always find a little spot to grow something. It's a struggle here sometimes, with dogs and chickens who want to destroy everything, but that first vine-ripened tomato makes it all worth while! :)
