Gloria's Quilt

I am so happy today! I finally finished the quilt I promised to my sister-in-law last year. Of course it was after three this morning when I finished it, but it's done! Glory to God!

She wanted purple, black and lots of bright prints.

It really IS a pretty quilt, though my sewing in places leaves a lot to be desired. :(

I guess that's the way it always is though, isn't it? I can see every mistake I made in glaring detail.

That is the way it is in life a lot of the time, too. When we make a mistake and do something wrong, we ask God to forgive us. And He does! But we still remember and beat ourselves up over something that God has even forgotten! And if He doesn't remember it, why should we? We should repent, but then we have to move on, and not let those things in the past hold us back.

I wish you could see and smell these angel's trumpets. They are glorious! I'm so glad I have them right outside my sewing room window so I can enjoy them all the time. The fragrance gets more intense in the evening.

And look! Yippee yay! The corn is starting to tassel! I can almost taste that fresh sweet corn right now! Patience. Patience.

Beautiful daughter is all off into cooking. She made herself this scrumptious omlette this morning.
Hope you're happy today, too. It's a great day!
Hugs and kisses,

It's a beautiful quilt Elaine! And holy cow -- the corn is starting to tassel??? I don't think corn has even been planted here yet!

Elaine, a lovely finished quilt and gift. You must feel so proud of yourself to get this quilt done, even if it is 3 in the morning.
Your daughter made a nice omelet...that is the only thing my 14 year old son can make too.

Elaine, in the midwest we gauge our corn by saying "knee high by the fourth of July". You will be eating yours. The quilt is beautiful and such a lovely gift.

Lovely quilt! Only you can see all the "oops" and I'm sure the recipient of this beautiful gift will only see the love and time you put into it!

I hand-sewed a king-size quilt top for my son during the year we were in Africa (2001-02) but didn't get it quilted until right before we moved last year. And I have another quilt top that was finished 18 years ago and STILL isn't quilted. So a year or two in progress is pretty good in my book :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, too. I'm having a blast with this Quilt Festival! So many great quilts, so much inspiration!

It's glorious! The only reason you can see everything is because you made it. We are pretty critical of ourselves.
