Chickens in Our Back Yard

It was really nice outside this morning so I let the chickens maraud a bit in the back yard while I took care of some clean-up out there. Boy, did they have fun!!

You have to watch them, though. They're pretty destructive, given half a chance. Look at this little sweetie. Looks innocent through and through, doesn't she?

But look what she quickly walked away from when she saw me. Yep, I caught her in the act of jumping up and plucking blackberries. She thought the red ones would taste better than the black ones. :)

And look at that corn! I think we'll be eating some of that corn real soon. I can hardly wait......

Have a great day!

Hugs and kisses,

How funny. It looks like they're having a good time. I can't believe how high your corn is by now. Up here the saying is "knee high by the 4th of July"!

Elaine, I viewed this yesterday in my blogreader and just fell into a trance litening to the sights and sounds of your yard and it was so soothing...guess I forgot to comment. Allergy season for me is springtime and I have suffered with them since I was young but the pollen is extremely high this year; thanks for the well-wishes.

xoxo,
Susan

Elaine, another great post and a funny one too. Your yard is in such a good shape, the chicken poop is defnitely doing its job. Cute chickens too.

I just love the chickens to get out and roam as well, but just as you discovered, they can destroy so much in so little time. Your corn looks like it is going to be very tasty! Blessings,Kathleen
