Refashioning - T-Shirts into Dress

I have been doing a little sewing, but I tend to get distracted (read easily bored) with just one project and so I go off and do others. I know that I am not alone in this, because I read your blogs, too. ;) I've had this idea in my head for a while now to combine two tee shirts into a dress, so I went for it. I don't think I did the most wonderful job in the world, but it IS extremely comfortable, and that's what I wanted.
I cut the top part off a second, larger tee and machine sewed the bottom part to the top of a tee that fits me.

After re-engineering the neckline I added flower cut-outs here and there (partly to cover some stains). I used the machine blanket stitch to attach them, and I think it looks pretty good. Thank you, Janome!

Here's another little thing that caught my eye. I've had these kaleidoscope blocks ready to be sewn for quite a while. Now there are two of them sewn together. I do have a nice little pile of the half square triangles sewn together, pressed and tails clipped.

and another nice little pile ready to be pressed and clipped.
And look what I just brought in from the garden - a little handful of borlotto solista green beans! I'll incorporate them into lunch. I LOVE our garden!
We're having hot dry weather here (Except for the humidity of course. That's pretty much a year around thing in Houston.), so I've been doing a lot of watering. We have a chance for rain this weekend, so here's hoping!
I hope your days are filled with LOTS of things that make you happy!
Hugs and kisses,

Congratulation on your new dress! I am glad you went for it! How many times we just think of doing something, but don't go around to doing it!

Your kaleidoscope blocks are so colorful!

Have a great weekend!

You've been adventurous and creating, well done! I have SOOO many unfinished projects, it's not funny - but . . . I'm off into the garden today for some solace. We are full of Autumn here with wonderful colour in the trees an lots of dew in the mornings. I keep finding perfect little spider webs.
