Assembly Line

Out of the midst of chaos, comes at least some kind of order.  (Hopefully, though blogger is about to make me pull my hair out.)I've been working on the double hourglass blocks.  I have two little boys in mind, so I think there will be enough blocks for two quilts that are pretty well identical.

There's just something so satisfying about seeing those stacks of blocks, sewn together and ready for the next step.

Unless, of course, you get in a little too big a hurry and do this.

Fortunately, that's what seam rippers do.

And here, next to my handy-dandy seam ripper is something I discovered.  A watering can with the long spout makes a wonderful steam iron filler-upper.  Much less mess.

I've been trimming the completed squares.  (After I convinced Chloe to move.)

I really like these blocks.  And the 1930's reproduction children's prints just make me smile.  I was up so late (early this morning, actually) pressing these blocks and I was just smiling.  Either I was punchy or they're really pretty.

Is it just me?  No.  They're happy-makers!
Bruno had to take a nap.  It's hard work protecting Mom all night long!

Hope you day has been wonderful!!!!

Hugs and kisses,

Elaine, beautiful blocks. I like the idea of working on 2 quilts at a time. I just hate it when I switched the blocks too. It is better to notice the mistakes now and not after you got the quilts quilted. LOL

Looks like you're having lots of fun with those blocks. I love that pattern -- even when you make a mistake LOL!

Elaine,
These are beautiful quilt blocks. I love the fabric. Looks like Chloe wants to see what's happening. Bruno is a pretty animal, too. I look forward to seeing your completed quilts. The fabric is lovely.
