Hot and Tired

I think that would describe not only my poor flowers and plants, but me, too, a bit.  The heat and humidity really sap your strength.  I also lost some outside time fighting allergy/sinus/coughing/whatever for almost a month!  So glad to be over that.

I was blessed last week with a LOT of fabric.  This fabric had been donated to a resale shop.  Believe it or not, they did not want it.  Long story short, it was given to me.  It had been stored, so it all had to be washed.

And ironed.  Can I just say that my stash has grown enormously!

I'm still working on quilting this little boy's quilt.  Almost done.  I'm hoping to finish it tonight.

I have several of these banana peppers still in the garden.  Unfortunately, that is all that's left.

This wild looking mess (due to my lack of yard work the last month) is a group of four o'clocks.  They are the sweetest little flowers, readily self-seeding, and they bloom in the afternoon (hence the name).  Their fragrance is heavenly.

There is always something pretty, if you look.

Hope there's plenty pretty where you are!

Hugs and kisses,

My flowers are not doing so good too...way to hot. Lucky girl to get all those fabrics. Do you have a pattern in mind? I know it is not going in a string quilt. LOL

Oh my gosh -- I haven't thought about four o'clocks since I was a little girl. I remember planting seed packets of them and marveling at the fact that they DID bloom around four o'clock. That fabric stash looks wonderful -- lots of fun new quilting in your future!

Hot and sticky here, too, but early last evening a monsoon came into the area and the temp cooled down. I sat outside for awhile. Your banana peppers look wonderful, I use them in cooking. And 4 o'clocks grew in my childhood home and I would collect the black seed that seemed to scatter everywhere. Enjoy your new stash--that is some pile to iron!

It's hot here, too. I am grateful that the mornings are getting cooler. Our garden has dried up, no more vegetables. Our poor flowers are trying to droop, too. Your fabric sure is beautiful. I can hardly wait to see the lovely quilts I'm sure you will make.

You lucky thing! I just know of the wonderful quilts you will be making with you stash! I love 4 o'clocks too. A cold front has hit us and it feels like fall weather. Hope it will cool down for you soon! blessings,Kathleen

wow that is a lot of fabric. It looks like some of it is big enough for backings too. I know some resale shops don't like to be bothered with fabric.
