Seeing Double

Yep, that's two of them all right.

And double yep, they're pretty much the same.  I finally finished the two little boy quilts I've been working on for a while.

The backings are  different, though, just so at some point little boys will be able to tell which is theirs.  One of the brothers is only a couple of weeks old and the other is a year and a half, so there should be plenty of play-on-the-floor time ahead for these two quilts.

Their dad is a volunteer firefighter, so I think this one will be especially enjoyed.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't bugs always a big hit with little boys?  And who could resist personality-laden bugs like these?

I just did get these photos taken before the rain started.  Again.  It's a nice break from the extreme heat we've been having and our yard needs the watering.

This is the view from our back door last night just at dusk.  I love that time just before dark, after the harsh light of day has faded.

Look how the white four o'clocks just glow in the twilight.  Almost like stars.

For those of you in the United States, I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.  There's outdoor grilling planned around here.  Yummy!

Hugs and kisses,

Elaine,
What beautiful quilts. I love the bugs on the boy's quilt. Your lawn and four o'clock flowers are very pretty. I'm glad you got some rain to give relief from the heat.
I hope you and your family have a great Labor Day.

Beautiful quilts Elaine. I love the washed crinkled look on the quilts and seeing them in your garden. Have a good weekend.

Yeah, they are fantastic, and I loved seeing your garden and those twinkling stars. Back to the machine me, as the rain is pouring here.

They're beautiful Elaine -- what lucky little boys. I love how you made them the same, yet put different backs on them. Have fun grilling!!!

Those are two fortunate little boys, I'm sure they will have years of fun with their quilts. Wise woman to make the backs different! Looks like you truly enjoy your yard - hope it's a nice Labor Day weekend for you my friends

the backings are so cute on those matching quilts. I'm sure the boys will love them.
We got 2" of rain which we really needed too.
