My Yard Crew

I sat in my supervisor's chair for a few minutes this morning and watched the yard crew at work.

They do a really good job, and I only pay them chicken feed.

Of course I do have to fence off the areas in which I don't want them laboring.

As you can imagine, a LOT of dirt gets tracked into our house.  I have throw rugs on the floors to catch a lot of it before it travels throughout the house.  I hosed off some of them this morning and when they dry a bit, I will wash them in the washing machine.

Here's Ray with another contingent of the work force on the other side of the house.

Meanwhile, back in the chicken yard Sunny and her two mothers are busily scratching around and getting the best goodies while everyone else is out working.  Isn't that just the way it often is!

My poor little gardenia is doing its best to flower but the lack of rain is really showing up in it.

It was lush and full earlier in the year, but now it seems to be spending all its energy in blessing me with its beautiful flowers.

Hope you're having a lovely day, doing what you love!

Hugs and kisses,

Your yard is enchanting and I want to sit for a spell but not supervise, I'll leave that to you, the crew probably wouldn't respond to me anyways. Here everything get so dusty and you can not get rid of it, so I just live with it. I have gardenia bushes that bloomed and made the yard smell wonderful. I hope y'all get rain soon.

You have a fantastic yard. The plants and flowers are so beautiful. It looks so relaxing and peaceful. I like the chickens very much. They are really pretty animals and have such lovely colors. I hope you get rain soon. We need rain, too for our garden.

FANTASTIC! Better than watching TV I reckon!

Whoa! That's quite a crew! I agree with Annie- much better than TV.
It seems like so much has been happening in Muddling Through-land recently, so I'm going to go and have a good old read :-)
