Busy Week

So, here I am earlier in the week, all settled in outside the lab to work on a potholder while I waited for Miss Ru to finish getting her blood drawn,

when there she came, already done.

I'm so proud of her.  It was such a short time ago that she was in the hospital in dire condition after a spontaneous lung collapse and look how vibrantly healthy she looks!  Glory to God!

We went right down the hall from here to her doctor visit for a check up.  All is well.  Again, Glory to God!  I am so thankful.

I got this nice little stack of
fabric in the mail yesterday
from Glorious Color.  I read
about them on Wanda's blog
and after resisting temptation
for a while careful consideration
I ordered some of the Liberty
prints.  They are really pretty.
I've washed and folded them,
but I don't press until I'm ready
to cut.

And this one, too, which has been
my favorite for a while.  I've bought
this particular fabric more than
once and I've used it in several projects,
including a huge bunch of
it for the backing for a quilt for
a very dear friend.  So, you see,
I HAD to get some more......

Isn't it funny how some fabrics will
just sort of speak to you?

Last night we had a New Members' Coffee fellowship at our church.  Here's one of my adopted (not legally, just of the heart) daughters setting up a display of her baked treats and other goodies.  If you're in Houston, or nearby you should check out Sweetie's Treats.  (By the way, these disappeared SO fast!)  The cake she's putting on the table was a red velvet layer on the bottom and a DARK chocolate layer on top.  Miss Ru gave me a bite of the dark chocolate.  Oh.  My.  Goodness.  So good!

Speaking of Miss Ru, here she is putting empanadas out on trays.  Too bad I didn't get any pictures of the serving area.  There was so much delicious food.  We met a lot of new people and had fun visiting with those we already know well.  Fun.  It's a good thing!

I'm still working on the drunkard's path quilt, but I don't have any progress to show you.  Soon.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs and kisses,

God is good! So thankful for the good report on Miss Ru. Nice to see you can put your feet up and relax while waiting (you're so much like me).
