Delighted and Embarrassed All at the Same Time

I am more than delighted that I finally finished this quilt for our bed.

I am delighted that it is more than big enough to have a nice drop on both sides and plenty of extra quilt, top and bottom.

I am also extremely embarrassed at the mess I made out of joining the two sides together.  It is truly terrible and I truly am just not there to try to fix it.  I had the brilliant idea that since my quilting frame is not big enough to quilt one of this size (104" X109") I would make it in two parts and then join at the middle.  Great idea.  Didn't work out that well.  It is a very heavy quilt, maybe because it is so big.  So it will be a welcome, warm addition in cold weather.  It's just not even close to acceptable, much less perfect.  I shouldn't even show it, just pretend that it never happened.  But I am what I am, and I will not pretend not to make mistakes.  On the plus side, Mr. Muddling says he loves it and it is perfect.  How can I not love a man who says things like that!

Meanwhile, Bruno says he doesn't see why he should have to babysit.

Ariel, Ruthie's dog is included in this group photo of our black and tan mutts.  I am not  trying to strangle Lady, just to hold her head still long enough to snap a picture!

I've fussy cut these numbers from a Paddington Bear fabric.  I have plans......

And I am SO ready to get started on a new project, hopefully one that will go better.

I hope, too, that your projects are only proceeding perfectly!

Hugs and kisses,

Sure looks like you are trying to strangle that cute pup! LOL
No quilt police at my house. Just enjoy what you made with your own hands, it looks great to me.

I love the quilt. It looks so cheerful and I'm sure you're being overly critical. Looking forward to your next creation.

I looks beautiful to me Elaine! Sorry you're not happy with it - I hate it when that happens. The dog pictures are adorable!

I love the quilt! And I know how dang hard it is to join pieces. I have the same problem with my frame not being wide enough to quilt anything wider than about 72". I think finished is better than perfect every time :). Glad you found my blog so I could find yours!

I love the quilt. That's the kind I like to make.. It looks so pretty on your bed.. I wanted to let you know I've been fighting an old bug and got Larangitis to boot.. I'll be back soon.. Didn't want you to think I've forgotten you.. Blessings..

I love the scrappyness - is that a word? the pattern is beautiful and time consuming. You've done a great job and I'm sure it's a welcomed warmth these past few cold rainy nights.

Oh my gosh the dogs are so cute. The quilt is absolutely a work of art. It is beautiful. Really really beautiful. I have a quilt on my bed with the same flavor of yours. It has that same drop, too. So I know what you mean - huge! Hard to manage quilting something that big. Good job. Mistakes prove to help us be better next time. I am full of them.

Trying to catch up on my blog reading.
Had to laugh out loud reading this post where you explained that you were not trying to choke the little Lady.
Beautiful BIG quilt.
