A String Finish

My friend Phyllis made most of the blocks for this one.  Don't you love the BLUE of it?  I had just enough of the blue Martha Negley "Veggie Leaves" for the side borders.

Mostly, I just had fun with the quilting.  There is a little bit of everything in there - stars, swirlies, squiggles, you name it.

This sort of neutral fern fabric is the backing with an acid yellow green stripe for the border.  I think some child will really love it.

Miss Ru was admitted to the hospital through the emergency room over the weekend.  Symptoms seemed to indicate a collapsed lung, but thank God, it is not.  It is her old enemy  pneumonia sticking its ugly head up again.  There is lots of pain and not a lot of fun, but she will win this bout, too!  I've spent the last four nights there with her.

I've come home during the day and done little bits and pieces of things.  I got these blocks sewn together one day and pressed the next.  Even a little bit of sewing is remarkably good therapy!

Yesterday I went out in back and played in the dirt.  That's good therapy, too!  We've had some nice rain this week and everything out there has enjoyed it immensely.

I am so thankful for the goodness of the Lord and for the many ways He helps me and our family.  I can't honestly say that it's always fun, but even in the worst of times, there is still fun to be had.

I do hope you're finding plenty to keep yourself busy and out of trouble.

Hugs and kisses,

Glad you had a chance to work outside in the dirt. That's great for me when I need a change. I'm glad you also got rain.
