Finished!

The Exploding Blocks quilt is finished at last.

The fabrics in this one were a bit different for me. I don't think I've made a quilt before using mostly Civil War reproduction fabrics.

I do have to say, though, that I love how this one turned out - so cuddly.

It's for a man in our church who has been going through a health battle. I believe it will provide him some comfort. I hope so anyway.

It's hot here again, in the eighties for the next day or so and then a bit cooler. I'm thankful we have not hit the really hot temperatures yet.  The dogs and cats enjoy having that patio door open so they can keep an eye on whatever might be in the back yard. In this case, it looks like they're keeping an eye on each other!

Hope you're having a great weekend!!!

Hugs and kisses,

In a photo the quilt doesn't have the feel of CW repros because of the amount of red. It turned out really nice.

It got up to high 70s today with the sun shining. I was out bagging leaves so it felt pretty hot. Not humid though.

Love the quilt! You have been one prolific quilter, or should I say that you are always a prolific quilter. What are you up to next?

Your yard always seems to have something pretty blooming. I sure would like to plant roses, they seem to do well in this desert climate.

Well, I'm just a Chatty Cathy tonight so will end here :-)

I love the more muted colors of Civil War fabrics, and I love MSQ's Exploding Blocks pattern, so I especially love your version ... what a blessing it will be to that man in your church. We got up into the low 80's yesterday, but the rains we're going to get today will bring our temperatures down ... way down. :-( I'd rather have some more of those low 80's! ;-)

Wow. I love this quilt. Guy friendly to boot, which is often on my mind as there are so many guys in my family.
It's been a beautiful weekend here. Perfect weather.

Another dazzler Elaine! I love that block -- it's been pretty popular on the internet in the last few months -- it always makes me laugh when a tried and true block gets wild attention as if it's a new discovery LOL! Your version looks great!

What a wonderful quilt. I love the colors and fabric. You've done an excellent job and how kind to give it to the man at church. I know it will be a treasure to him.
I hope you and your family have a very Happy Easter!
