A Horses Panel Wallhanging

I bought a panel with horses a while back, with our daughter Mary in mind. She is a lover of horses. I had no idea how I wanted to use the panel, so I just let it marinate in the stash for a time.

Then I saw a video Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics posted. Surprisingly enough (!!!) I had this wood tone fabric already in the stash, too.

I changed the cutting directions she gave to make it work for my fabric.

I used a very small meandering stitch. It took me as long to quilt this little panel as it does a full size quilt! We'll get it in the mail to our baby girl, probably tomorrow. Hope she and Matt love it as much as I do!

Just for the fun of it, no makeup at all, but a big cup of coffee. Mr. Muddling is the one who choose that very dark blue nail polish!  So funny. He and Miss Ru went round and round when she wanted to wear the dark colors. Of course she won.

For a while it looked like there would not be any lemons this year, but now there are lots on the little tree on the upper left. The African violets are still gladdening my heart in the kitchen window, and Mr. Muddling bought another orchid for me! I do love flowers, and I am so thankful for the ones I am privileged to enjoy.

We've had threatening weather all week, but only a very little rain. Our dogs do not like the thunder, but thunder is mainly what we got!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and lots of fun!

Hugs and kisses,

How fun to see that you live in Houston ... me too, actually Spring. What's your favorite local quilt shop? I purchase a lot online, but like to get out to support the locals when I get out. And how interesting to see that you also garden. It HAS been nice to have scattered showers this week, and not have to worry about the flowers dying where the sprinkler doesn't quite reach. By this time, I'm usually over with trying to keep everything hydrated. She will love it. The wood panel back ground is perfect.

Great work with the horse panel. That is a great way to use it. Such an interesting technique. Love the care you have also taken with the quilting.
A wonderful finish.
Great to see you enjoying your cuppa and your nails!

Beautiful horse panel. Happy to hear about your future lemon crop. Good for you. Fun seeing a picture of you looking out over a mug of coffee : ) Pretty nails.
Appears Hurricane Florence is determined to hit North Carolina. Something south eastern coastal states have to deal with from time to time, unfortunately. Rats!

What a lovely gift for your daughter!! I haven't tried that panel trick yet. How did you like dividing it up to build your quilt?

I bet your daughter jumped for joy when she saw that beauty. I love all of your flowers in your garden. Stuff is winding down here and we've had lots of rain this summer. Hoping you can get some soon. Blessings and Love.
