Inspiration

I was inspired to create this flag wall hanging by this:

I've had fun with so many of the projects from the prolifically creative mind of Jenny Doan. I didn't really follow the pattern in this latest issue of Block. But it was the inspiration, the "jumping off" point.  I used the smaller tumbler Go! die, and changed the layout just a bit.

It went to our son for his birthday. He likes it. And that's what matters, isn't it?

It is SO hot and dry here now after the wet Spring we had. This is my poor yellow angel trumpet plant. Sad, isn't it?

But there are still things thriving out there in the back yard.

This is the sky I saw last night. Isn't it gorgeous! The sun's rays shining out from behind the cloud are beautiful, even if it is hot.

The four patch stars are multiplying. I'm not sure how big this will grow. Right now I'm having fun making those blocks, so we'll just have to wait and see.
Our granddaughter and her boyfriend stopped by on Wednesday and brought me a birthday card and these pretty RED miniature roses. It was so good to see her and to meet her beau for the first time.

I am so thankful for so many things. With the difficulties that we each face every day, it's still good to be in the world. It's still good to find inspiration in so many places and from so many people. Thank you for being part of my world!

Hugs and kisses,

Happy Birthday, Elaine! So you are an August baby! Good for you.
Love, Love, Love your colorful blocks. So much fun to sew when one finds a block they enjoy piecing.
Have a good weekend : )

I just love that wall hanging ... tumblers make such a charming flag quilt. I'm not surprised that your son loves it - what's not to love about it. And as long as you're having fun making those four-patch stars, just keep making them! (They're on my "to make" list. I've been making two-patch blocks as leaders and enders. I need to cut some triangles to make the star points and get started putting the blocks together at some point.
