My friend Deb sent me a stack of 3 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch rectangles. This is the result. There are so many interesting fabrics in it, I think kids, especially, will enjoy seeing all of them.
My friend Sandy made these four quilts for the USO Lounge at our local airport,
and I made these four. The one on the lower right is the one I showed at the beginning of today's post.
Mr. Muddling and I delivered all eight of these quilts to the volunteer coordinator at the USO IAH this afternoon and she was really glad to have her supply restocked. Now I can work on other projects with a clear conscience!
It is still extremely hot and dry. We had a beautiful rain recently, though you'd never know it today. But there are promises of cooler weather early and late in each day and we are so ready for it. All I can say at this point is, "Thank God for air conditioning!"
If you look in the collage above you can see my darling little Buddy number 2 looking innocent and adorable in his kennel. I do love him, but oh, my goodness the trouble he can make for himself and me! Three of my quilts have been destroyed by him and I am working very hard to keep the rest of them out of his reach! He wants to "help" me in everything I do, but I have watch him like a hawk or he will destroy something else. (Don't ask about the storage bench in the den!) I do realize he will eventually grow out of this stage, and believe me - I am so ready!! He is eight months old, so we are not there yet.
I hope all is well in your world and that life is being good to you. You are precious in the sight of the Lord. And to me, as well!
Hugs and kisses and love,
Elaine

The quilts you made are just wonderful Elaine - so much work in those! I love your collage of photos & Yes I can see Buddy, looking very innocent! Wishing you a lovely weekend Elaine. xx
I do enjoy seeing all the wonderful quilts you make to donate. That is a great way to use those rectangles. And lovely to have a friend pass them on to you.
Your garden looks like it is growing well, despite the heat. Well done.
Buddy the 2nd sounds like a bundle of mischief. It gives me a good laugh to read about it. Our son's family also has a young dog at the moment (14months old), and she is keeping them on their toes well and truly.
Buddy is adorable. Love the beautiful quilts. Hope the weather is getting cooler in your part of the country.
