We've got a little visitor in the back yard this morning. My neighbor told me that his nest was knocked down out of the tree yesterday by a larger bird. She only found two little birds, and one had been killed on impact. She kept this little guy inside last night and then tried to find someplace safe for him this morning. He ended up in our yard, and as you can see from the video above - made the acquaintance of at least one of the chickens! He's moved on from that perch now and hopefully will reconnect with his parents. He can fly a little, so I hope he makes it.
I have another little quilt pinned up and ready to start quilting. Wait till you see what I've put on the back. It's a surprise. I'll show you when it's finished.
We are in the midst of a little cool front. It blew through here on Saturday and has really made it a lot more pleasant. We were having a little TOO much hot weather already to suit me!

Everything is growing like wild around here. The flowers all look so happy and some of them have a truly heavenly fragrance.

Elaine, your garden is so beautiful and the roses are gorgeous. I hope the little birds will make it.
That little bird sure did feel secure with the chickens--cute. Your garden is producing and those roses are lovely. Roses are a favorite but here I am battling fungal diseases all the time so they don't grow into large bushes like they could.
Aw cute. The roses and flowers are beautiful. It was 90 here yesterday! I'm not quite ready for that.

Awww...I hope he finds his way. That's really sad that their nest is gone.
