Farm Scenes

I got my label made and sewn into the little quilt for my friend.  It always feels good to completely get one finished, doesn't it?
And of course, I have another one in the works.  This one is for my neighbor across the street.  She wants to give it to her sister who has some sort of senior memory loss.

The sisters (and a couple more and some brothers, too) grew up in the country on a farm, so I thought this backing would be perfect.
I like the bright colorful panels with such sweet home depictions on them.

And I am using those thirties reproduction fabrics I like so much.  I hope they spark some memories for her.  It must be so frightening to lose who you are and those you love in the recesses of your mind.  I pray this little quilt, when I finish it, will bring a little comfort to her.

I hope the rest of your weekend is just perfect!

Hugs and kisses,

Ahh Elaine that's so sweet of you. Very heartwarming post with some really neat fabrics, too.

A very thoughtful gift, and I'm sure it will spark conversations; dementia in the form of Alzheimer's is prevalent in my family.

You're always so kind and thoughtful Elaine! I agree with you -- I think losing your memory would be so sad. I know you will be smiling while you're working on your project.
