This is the picture that led me into making the cherry slab pie yesterday. Isn't it beautiful?
This is not my pie. It's the one I saw in the February edition of Better Homes & Gardens.
I can't even pretend that I made the filling according to the directions. I was going to, but I couldn't find my dried cherries, so I just used canned pie filling. Oh, the shame of it. (It was STILL good!)
Anyway, in case you'd like a chance to do it the right way, here's a link to the Double Cherry Slab Pie video. And if you just want the recipe, here's the link to that.
And publicly, DEB, I did not eat all that pie by myself. I had help. But I did eat my fair share, that's for sure! LOL
It's a beautiful day here, but still pretty cool (for us). I've got to get out and about and take care of some errands. Hope you have a super wonderful day!
Hugs and kisses,

Ha, ha, except to say that your pie looks just as yummy as theirs.
Ok, so they fancified theirs with the cut out hearts. So what - it's how it tastes that matters! And I'm sure yours was delish! (I've never heard of using dried cherries for cherry pie - I used canned tart cherries, some flour, sugar, butter and just the tiniest hint of cinnamon - and now I've made myself hungry for cherry pie!!).
Thanks for the link to the recipe.
And I am still interested in your own pastry recipe, too.
Looks so yummy. I'll have to try it, love cherries. Thanks!!
You're so funny! I LOVE canned cherry pie filling, so I'm betting this pie was fabulous. Thanks for the links. And I'm going to do you a favor and not comment about the cold LOL!
