Nothing Finished, But Still Plenty in the Works

A few more of these Winding Ways blocks have made it up onto the design wall. They are really fun to make.
And I've put these half square triangle blocks back up on the other wall. I think I may try to get them all sewn together and see if it is going to be big enough.
Our girls gave me this bear one Christmas long ago. I put one of the old t-shirts from their baby days on him today, just for fun. He is showing some of the strip leftovers from when I cut the rail fence quilts. I do hate to let these little bits and pieces go to waste. I think there may be some more added and they will eventually turn into a quilt.
Lots of pretty things out in the back yard, and the African violets in the upper right are, of course, inside. They are not an outside plant! I do love the flowers everywhere right now. I plan to enjoy all of them I can before the real heat of Summer gets here!

I hope there are plenty of things for you to enjoy where you are. Our wonderful God has given us so many beautiful things to see and appreciate. I am thankful!

USO Delivery Today

I'm making delivery to the local USO lounge today and I almost forgot one of the quilts! Sandy brought this one over that she finished a while back. Isn't it pretty! She is really good at putting together those string blocks. I love the colorful, happy fabrics. I'm sure it will be enjoyed!
Here is a little collage of the ones that will be going today. As always, if you click on the picture, it will enlarge. I am so thankful we can do this to be a blessing to our soldiers and also to the sweet staff there at the USO Lounge at the airport.

SO many pretty things going on outside! I do love this time of year. I got a lot of weeding done yesterday, but there is still plenty to keep me busy for a long time.

More of the Winding Ways have been completed, but this is another of those projects that will take a while. Can you see the circles? This is far from the finished layout, but I love that you can already see that secondary pattern. To me, it is just fun! And I do like fun.

Our sweet baby girl Mary is planning a trip to visit in June with her fella! We can't wait to meet him. So thankful for our family. They are the best!

I hope you are happy and full of joy there in your world. You know, it's a choice lots of the time, and remember - the joy of the Lord is your strength!

Hugs and kisses,

Two New Baby Quilts and Two Deliveries

First of all, please allow me to apologize for my slothfulness in posting. No excuse whatsoever, just lazy about getting it done!
I have finished two little rail fence baby/child quilts. They will also go to the USO lounge at our local airport. The center volunteer leader tells us that the parents like to put a quilt on the floor for their little ones to play on safely.

Both of these are colorful and both have some interesting to children prints in them. I also think those rails might make pretty good car tracks! I hope they enjoy them.

This pretty purple on that I posted about here was delivered to the lovely lady it was made for this morning at church. She loved it and was so touched that I had made it for her.

This one, posted here, I had fond hopes of keeping, but today it went to live with our sister in law, and it was the right thing to do.

I guess I'll just have to try again. I liked this one so much, I may just duplicate it somewhat. We'll see!

Lots of pretty things going on around here, inside and out. Can you believe that purple orchid is still in glorious bloom? I posted a picture of it last month when the first bloom opened.   It is a beautiful world we've been given, even with the bad things that happen. I'm thankful.

I recently purchased the Winding Ways die for my Go! Cutter. I've cut a number of the block components and have started sewing them together. They really go together easily (as long as I'm reasonably awake, at least!).

I have been peeking in to see what some of you have been doing. You continually inspire me! Thank you for being faithful to blog about your makings!

Hugs and kisses,
